Cause of Loss: Hurricane Michael

Customer: Insurance company for insured with multiple, large distribution warehouses

Location: Panama City, Florida

Project Duration: Three weeks

Overview:

GLOBAL Disaster Solutions was retained to inspect three separate distribution warehouses that sustained significant wind and water damage from Hurricane Michael in the fall of 2018. Upon initial inspection of all three buildings, loss reserves were set in excess of $3,500,000 and the initial scope assessments were completed. In the days that followed, additional inspections were performed to include meetings with the insured representatives as well as some of the tenants that occupied the buildings. Temporary repairs and selective shoring and demolition were performed as needed while the scope was defined and estimates were prepared. Within three weeks, all three buildings had agreed upon repair estimates and the insurance company was able to expedite payments to the insured, which led to quick closure of claims.
