Cause of Loss: Tornado

Customer: State insurance fund and their respective reinsurance companies

Overview:

A destructive tornado struck a large university campus causing significant damage to a majority of the buildings and structures. Winds ripped roofs off, destroyed sections of buildings and blew out windows and doors, which allowed rainwater intrusion to of many of the damaged buildings. We worked alongside adjusters and the university facility directors in an effort to establish proper reserves, conduct building damage assessments and scopes of loss. We worked with the insured's contractors as they performed emergency repairs and stabilized the buildings. Proper scopes of damage were determined and subsequent estimates were prepared to facilitate the restoration of the salvageable buildings.
